I’ve made a sketchy little map where I traced the contours by hand from screenshots of the unit and interpolated where I needed to, but I’m unhappy with how it turned out. Another problem I have with this is that there is no easy way of getting the map off the unit, plus all of the data is proprietary. My problem with that is the map that I made isn’t very accurate because there is a lot of shallower areas and Quickdraw doesn’t know where the shoreline is, resulting in the contours below 6ft to be very inaccurate. I have access to one of the lakes and have attempted to map the lake with a Garmin EchoMap unit with Garmin’s Quickdraw Contours feature. I am interested in creating contour maps of these lakes to frame and use for fishing, but I’m not really sure how to go about doing it. I live in an area with a lot of smaller lakes (<60 acres each), many of which are residential or private (though I do have access to) and are uncharted.
